Error Message: Couldn't change user
Problem:
Synk is unable to run as another user (typically root).
This error usually occurs because the Synk Engine has lost its authentication to run as a different user.
Try the following:
- Backup: Relaunch the application. The setup wizard will appear, allowing you to reauthenticate the Synk Engine.
- Std/Pro: Disable, then re-enable the "allow user to run as other users" option in the security preferences.
If the authentication doesn't seem to "stick," and the problems continue, make sure that Synk is stored in /Applications. While Synk will work almost anywhere, some locations, like on a disk image (FileVault or otherwise), or on a volume with "Ignore ownership on this volume" enabled, do not support setting authentication flags on applications.
